چکیده
Xylitol, a natural compound classified as sugar alcohol, is found diversely in fruits and vegetables small quantities. Commercial production of xylitol has expanded due to its health benefits wide applications an alternative sweetener food pharmaceutical products. Production on large scale industrially being achieved by the chemical method. However, biotechnological method offers possibilities lowered cost energy compared methods. It involves conversion xylose microbes or enzymes which environmentally safe. This review highlights prospects production. Various microorganisms that have been used produce xylitol, bioprocess parameters, genetic modifications increase yield reviewed. In addition, applications, benefits, safety concerns discussed.

Xylitol: a review on bioproduction, application, health benefits, and related safety issues.
Xylitol is a pentahydroxy sugar-alcohol which exists in a very low quantity in fruits and vegetables (plums, strawberries, cauliflower, and pumpkin). On commercial scale, xylitol can be produced by chemical and biotechnological processes. Chemical production is costly and extensive in purification steps. However, biotechnological method utilizes agricultural and forestry wastes which offer the ...
متن کاملA Perspective Bioproduction of xylitol by enzyme technology and future prospects
Xylitol is a high value sugar alcohol with anticariogenic properties that is used as an ideal sweetener for diabetic patients. Industrially, xylitol is manufactured by catalytic reduction of pure xylose, which has some disadvantages. The fermentation process has been studied as an alternative, but its viability is dependent on the optimization of several variables. This fermentation process on ...
متن کاملSemi-continuous xylitol bioproduction in sugarcane bagasse hydrolysate: effect of nutritional supplementation
Xylose-to-xylitol bioconversion by Ca-alginate entrapped Candida guilliermondii cells in sugarcane bagasse hemicellulosic hydrolysate was carried out in erlenmeyer flasks using the repeated-batch mode of fermentation. The hydrolysate was supplemented or not with ammonium sulfate and/or rice bran extract at the beginning of each repeated batch. Altogether, six sets of three repeated-batches were...

Disease are recognized as one of the major constraint to sustainable animal production which can cause significant economic loss especially in aquaculture. Various chemotherapeutic agents have been traditionally used in the treatment and prevention of diseases in farmed fish but they are not recommended since improper and continuous use of antibiotics may lead to potential development of antibi...
متن کاملInjectable Hydrogels: A Review of Injectability Mechanisms and Biomedical Applications
Hydrogels have been used for biomedical applications in recent decades. They are a perfect candidate for regenerative medicine as they resemble the extracellular matrix of native tissues. In addition, their highly hydrated structure makes them a suitable choice for drug and other therapeutics delivery. Injectable hydrogels have increasingly gained attention due to their capability for homogeneo...
